Employment Opportunity: Deputy Town Clerk
We’re looking for a dependable, welcoming person who is excited to help move the Town Clerk’s Office forward. The office is hoping to expand its services, such as accepting credit card payments, online tax payments, and digitizing records. The Deputy Clerk will assist residents with everyday services while helping improve how those services are delivered. Candidates should be a community-minded people-person who enjoy helping residents and visitors, especially seniors and others who may need extra assistance. Strong organizational and computer skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are crucial.

2027 Budget Activities
2027 Budget meetings are underway. Department Head meetings are scheduled for Monday, October 5 and Tuesday October 6. Public Hearings for the Water, Onsite Sewer, and Hamlet Sewer Districts are scheduled for Tuesday, October 13. Each of these public events, and future events as they are scheduled, are posted on the Town Calendar.

Woodstock's DWSP2 Plan Approved by NYS - October 2, 2026
A core team of three Woodstock residents and two members of the New York State Department of Health (NYS DOH) have been working collaboratively as part of the NYS Drinking Water Source Protection Program (DWSP2) on a plan for how Woodstock can best protect our water supply. Woodstock's plan has just been approved by NYS. We are now moving into the implementation phase. Additional DWSP2 information, including a copy of Woodstock's approved plan, can be found on the Environment page of this website.

SBA Approves Disaster Declaration and Offers Relief
The Small Business Administration (SBA) has approved a disaster declaration from the July rain/flood event. Ulster County was included in the declaration because it is a contiguous county to Columbia and they have met the threshold.
Businesses and private nonprofits are eligible to apply for business physical disaster loans and may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace disaster-damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets.
Homeowners and renters are eligible to apply for home and personal property loans and may borrow up to $100,000 to replace or repair personal property, such as clothing, furniture, cars, and appliances. Homeowners may apply for up to $500,000 to replace or repair their primary residence.
Applicants may also be eligible for a loan increase of up to 20% of their physical damage, as verified by SBA, for mitigation purposes. Eligible mitigation improvements include strengthening structures to protect against high wind damage, upgrading to wind rated garage doors, and installing a safe room or storm shelter to help protect property and occupants from future damage.

School Taxes are paid as instructed by the School, not at Woodstock Town Offices; detail is listed below the image
School has started which means it’s time for property owners to pay your school tax bills! School taxes are collected by your school district, NOT the Town of Woodstock.
Woodstock residents may receive bills from different school districts, so timing varies. Onteora and Saugerties school tax bills generally go out the first of September, while Kingston’s typically show up mid-September. Please follow the payment instructions listed on your school tax bill.
For Onteora school taxes, you can:
>> Mail to the address it specifies on the bill
>> Pay by check at the Woodstock Bank of Greene County (81 Mill Hill Rd)
>> Look up your bill and pay online: taxes.onteoraschools.org

Private Well PFAS Testing and Mitigation Rebate Pilot Program
If your home runs on well water, you may qualify for a new rebate program that can help you test and clean your water supply.
New York’s Private Well PFAS Testing & Mitigation Rebate Pilot Program offers free testing for harmful PFAS chemicals, which can contaminate well water. If your well tests positive, the program can help cover the cost to fix it.
The program has been accepting testing applications for Dutchess and Putnam Counties and is now accepting testing applications for Ulster County. Applications are first-come, first-served while funding is available.
Eligible households can receive:
- Free PFAS water testing for your private well
- Up to $5,000 to install a water treatment system
- Up to $10,000 to connect your home to public water
