Housing Oversight Task Force (HOTF)

Woodstock Housing Oversight Task Force (HOTF)

Editor's Note (Laura Ricci 12/20/25):

Woodstock's Housing Oversight Task Force (HOTF) was formed in June of 2021 to achieve the mission stated in this section. The task force proposed significant law updates, as documented in this section, to achieve this mission. They provided a set of proposed law updates in April of 2023, gathered feedback, and provided an updated set of proposed law updates in October of 2023. This October, 2023, final set of law updates was turned over to the Woodstock Town Board to take through the approval process, and the HOTF was disbanded. The Woodstock Town Board has taken steps to move these proposed law updates through the approval process, but as of December 2025, they have not yet been adopted. If, in the future, these laws are being adopted, there will need to be a review, and update as needed, to be sure that as Chapter 202 Subdivision of Land and Chapter 260 Zoning are replaced in their entirety by the proposed updates, laws passed but not yet merged into the eCode level used as a base for the creation of these documents are included in whatever version of this law is passed.

Mission of the Housing Oversight Task Force (HOTF):

Make housing more available to people of a range of income levels and backgrounds while preserving our town’s unique character and scale and continuing to protect our treasured natural environment.
