Getting To and From Woodstock

By Car

State Roads: To enter Woodstock from:

  • Kingston and the southeast, State Route 28 will connect to State Route 375, which will bring you through West Hurley to 212 and the Woodstock hamlet.
  • Saugerties and the northeast, State Route 212 is the main arterial route.
  • Points west, State Route 28 will connect to State Route 375, or alternatively, take State Route 28 to State Route 212, travelling to the Woodstock hamlet through Mount Tremper, Willow, Lake Hill, Shady, and Bearsville.

County roads: In and around Woodstock: Rock City Road, Wittenberg Road, Glenford-Wittenberg Road, Ohayo Mountain Road, Glasco Turnpike, Sawkill Road, Zena Road, and West Saugerties Road.

By Taxi, Limo or Uber

Due to the rapidly changing car service landscape, online searching is the best way to learn current taxi and limousine service information. It is possible to get Uber transportation into and out of Woodstock, plus taxi and limousine services may be available. 

By Bus

Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT) operates Monday through Saturday Fare Free service within Ulster County. Woodstock is on the Z route.

Adirondack Pine Hill Trailways operates daily bus service to and from Port Authority in New York City, making stops in Kingston each way. The official Woodstock stop is in the center of the Woodstock hamlet across from the Village Green, but they'll drop you almost anywhere along 212 if you ask. Flagging the driver down to pick you upon the road is trickier and not officially sanctioned. By Train

There is no direct train service to Woodstock.


Amtrak's Hudson Valley line provides service to destinations north, including Albany, NY, and beyond, and south, including New York City and beyond, making daily stops in Rhinecliff, across the Hudson River from Kingston, NY, our county seat.
