At the February 13, 2018 Town Board meeting, Iris York made a presentation: Cemetery Advisory Board - A self named Board (with eleven members) approached the Town Board with a request to be recognized by the Board. Iris York said she would be Chair if the Board wishes to appoint her. Their mission statement is to “Protect the interests of the lot owners with oversight.

The Cemetery Committee was established 10/20/2020 by Town Board resolution 192-2020. Minutes can be accessed from woodstockny.gov/index.php?cID=985. The resolution text is also available in the attached file.

By resolution:

• This is a seven-member committee. The seven members and the Chair are appointed by the Town Board
• Terms would begin January 1, 2021.
• Three members would have terms ending 12/31/21.
• Two members would have terms ending 12/31/22.
• Two members would have terms ending 12/31/23.
• Upon expiration of each of these terms, subsequent terms would be three years each.

Duties:

The Cemetery Committee is an advisory committee to the Woodstock Town Board. The Committee, which shall periodically report to the Town Board, will determine its own meeting schedule, shall offer advisory suggestions to the Town on improvements to the cemetery grounds and, with consent of the Town, engage in fundraising efforts on behalf of the cemetery, as needed. Committee members, however, shall not direct town employees under supervision of the Town Supervisor.

Members:
