Climate Smart Communities Task Force (CSCTF)

The Woodstock Climate Smart Communities Task Force is responsible for efforts to mitigate the town’s greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and to support climate adaptation efforts to prepare the town for future floods, droughts, fires, and heat waves. Our work includes supporting the maintenance of existing clean energy infrastructure and working with the town government and residents to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. We are responsible for maintaining the Town’s Bronze status and working to achieve Silver status with the state.
Become a Task Force Member!
We are actively recruiting one new task force member. You do not need to be a climate expert to participate! Our work covers three areas:
- Proposal writing and reporting to maintain our Bronze Status and apply for Silver Status.
- Implementation work such as setting up a composting program in town.
- Educational efforts - often in partnership with other local organizations.
Task Force Member Role Description
Time commitment is 3-5 hours / month.

Previous Work
Community Greenhouse Gas Inventory
Woodstock in partnership with the Mid-Hudson Regional Council, undertook a regional GHG emissions Inventory in 2021. The Inventory serves as the baseline for the Community Climate Action Plan for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Natural Resources Inventory
The Natural Resources Inventory was conducted by the Woodstock Environmental Commission, and is documented on the Environmental Commission (WEC) page of this website.
