Woodstock's Housing Oversight Task Force (HOTF) was formed in June of 2021. The task force proposed significant law updates, as documented in this section, to achieve their mission. They provided a set of proposed law updates in April of 2023, gathered feedback, and provided an updated set of proposed law updates in October of 2023. This October, 2023, final set of law updates was turned over to the Woodstock Town Board to take through the approval process, and the HOTF was disbanded. The Woodstock Town Board took steps to move these proposed law updates through the approval process, but as of December 2025, they have not yet been adopted. If, in the future, these laws are to be adopted, there will need to be a review and update, to be sure that as Chapter 202 Subdivision of Land and Chapter 260 Zoning are replaced in their entirety by these proposed updates, laws passed since the 2023 drafting of these HOTF proposed Chapter 202 and 260 replacements are included in whatever version of this law is passed.
Make housing more available to people of a range of income levels and backgrounds while preserving our town’s unique character and scale and continuing to protect our treasured natural environment.
